Prayer Rx Origin

Beginning in 1972, Donna L. Hammond was asked to write a series of short inspirational prayers for inclusion in the Sunday bulletins used in a protestant church in Huntsville, Alabama. These prescription prayers (labeled in the bulletins as PRAYER Rx's) have been generated continuously since that time, and they have provided comfort, consolation, inspiration and guidance for many of those who have read them. At the suggestion of several Christian friends, they are being assembled into the series of daily devotional prayers presented here -- one prayer for each day of the year. It is hoped that all who read them will receive a blessing from God as they apply them to their own situations.
