Dear Lord, when I feel helpless, hurt, ridiculed and forsaken, remind me that You have felt that way too. ... There is really NOTHING that I can ever face that You have not experienced. ... If I am a hostage or a prisoner, or if I am in bondage to sin, You were that also when You hung on the cross. ... If I feel helpless when a loved one suffers, or turns away from me, You also knew that sadness when Your love was rejected. ... If there seems to be no one for me in my aloneness, grief or suffering, I should remember that You too must have felt deserted, alone and without hope in the Garden of Gethsemene. ... Oh Lord, only You can really understand my problems. What a friend we have in You! I am not alone, am I? Thank You, Lord, and I ask that You continue to fill my life with Your glorious presence.
