Dear Lord Jesus, Pentecost was the birthday of Your church. Before the Holy Spirit entered Jesus' disciples at Pentecost, they were timid and afraid. ... Lord, I am often timid and afraid too, but You promised that the Holy Spirit would be our link to You if we would but ask.* I'm asking now, Lord, if not in some flash of lightning, then in the slow clearing of the fog of my fears and uncertainties. ... Seize me with Your Holy Spirit, that I may have the courage to act for You in love, and to praise You no matter what happens, as I strive to live daily within Your will.
