Dear Lord, without You, I have no moral guidelines -- no restraining force to keep my life in order. Without You, I am left to float free, tumbling and turning with no real purpose or direction, borne hither and yon by any current world philosophies or teachings. ... Help me to see that just as life without the law of gravity could be confusing and difficult, just so my life without You would be filled with error, grief and frustration. A life without a compass would soon prove pointless; without purpose and moral guidelines, life would be both chaotic and dangerous. ... Oh Lord, help me to see my need to choose You and to seek Your highest expectations for my life, for You have made me uniquely for Your purpose. I need You as my sovereign God and my redeeming Savior, and I need the special anointing of Your Holy Spirit to reveal Your truth and to empower me to act out Your will for my life. ... Engulf me with Your love and Your peace that I may want to live my life to glorify You, and to enjoy You forever.
