PRAYER Rx --- April 12
Dear Lord, You did not say how long the prodigal son was away. ... It could have been one, five or ten years, or more. ... It is hard to be a parent, only to be able to stand by when a loved child takes a wrong path; yet it must be his or her "turning about," and all that any parent can do is to pray and to trust You to do the drawing. ... How much more then we begin to understand some of Your heartache, Lord. Even though You first chose us and loved us, You too are helpless unless we choose You, for love must be freely given. Oh Lord, open our hearts to understand this.
