Prayer Prescription for This Date

PRAYER Rx --- February 25

Dear Lord, let us pause to look at how we, as a nation, react to crisis situations or major changes that affect us all. ... When our soldiers, wounded or deceased, are brought home, we turn to You. When the Challenger met its tragic end, we grieved as one, and turned to You. When a beloved entertainer lost his only son in a lamentable roadside shooting, our hearts were united in sympathy as we searched for answers. ... At our President's inauguration, it seemed fitting to turn to You. We invoked Your blessing, and listened to songs of our nation's heritage and religious roots, and of Your AMAZING GRACE. ... Oh Lord, forgive us for ignoring our Christian roots as we too often try to live our daily lives and govern our nation without seeking Your guidance. Help us to realize that we did not make it this far as a nation without Your help and Your blessing. ... Help us to understand that we can not build a "Bridge to the next century" without a strong moral foundation, and a clear identification of right and wrong for our youth and for ourselves. ... Forgive us for our arrogance, in thinking that we have outgrown You, lest we ourselves bring on our nation's downfall!

In the name of Jesus we pray.

Amen.
